Overview
Health Level Seven is fast becoming the standard for hospitals dealing with clinical and administrative data. HL7 is the most widely used messaging standard for the healthcare industry, not only in North America, but around the globe.
The HL7 interface for Bernoulli® is used to connect the data that
Bernoulli® receives from a medical device, to a hospitals IT system. Bernoulli® is able to
connect to a variety of IT vendor interfaces (EMR
systems) and ultimately streamlines daily workflow. No
more manual entry of device data and recording of
clinical parameters. Bernoulli® facilitates more
clinician time at the bedside by sending data directly
from the device to the Electronic Medical Record.
Utilizing existing network
infrastructure, the HL7 ADT (Admit/Discharge/Transfer)
module will allow HL7-compliant hospital information
systems to send ADT messages to Bernoulli®. Bernoulli®
will acknowledge these messages when needed and make the
necessary changes to the information stored in the
Bernoulli® database. The ADT interface will handle A01,
A02, A03, A08, A11, A12, A13, A17, A34 and A35 messages.
Patients are tracked by the Bernoulli® Patient Id which
corresponds to the internal Patient ID field (PID3).
"PLUG AND PLAY"
HL7 allows real-time device data from hundreds of
different available devices. This can become part of
your hospital-wide information system. A user-friendly
interface provides a real-time dashboard to monitor
message status, and to search for specific events, logs
and status messages.
